Art on a Postcard presents ‘This is Dedicated to The One I Love’ – Guest Curated by Lauren Estelle Jones – 16 November – 2 December 2025

After 11 years, Art on a Postcard will host its final postcard auction in support of The Hepatitis C Trust — a moment that marks the end of an extraordinary era. Guest curator Lauren Estelle Jones has invited over 50 artists to create new works in the format of a postcard, a small vessel for something vast.

Taking inspiration from The Mama’s & The Papa’s version of the song Dedicated to the One I Love, the project asks artists to send a visual message to someone they love — either in the present or as a fragment returned to the past. Each postcard becomes a letter of devotion, memory, and becoming — a delicate bridge between lives that have been lived and those still being dreamt up.

This farewell auction also celebrates the achievements of The Hepatitis C Trust. Since its founding in 2002, the charity has grown from a small patient-led organisation calling for the elimination of hepatitis C into a national, peer-led service delivering tailored support to some of the most marginalised communities. Thanks to this pioneering work, the UK now stands on the brink of becoming one of the first countries in the world to eliminate hepatitis C.

Lauren Estelle Jones is the co-founder of the contemporary art organisations Art Barter and Alteria Art and acts as an independent curator, consultant, and advisor. She works internationally to initiate projects featuring emerging and established contemporary artists across creative disciplines, with a focus on visual art and music. Jones has worked closely with over 800 artists throughout her career and has invited some of her favourites to participate in this auction — ensuring that there is a mix of established names alongside emerging talent, as is typical of her practice that aims to democratise the way people experience art.

Among the highlights are tactile textile creations by Chinese multimedia artist Silia Ka Tung; unique signed prints from YBA Mat Collishaw; animated paintings by rising star Layla Andrews of TKE Studios; a witty conceptual piece by Gavin Turk; and evocative works by Spanish artist Saelia Aparicio, whose recent collaboration with Yoko Ono underscores her boundary-pushing practice.

Participating artists include:
Holly Allen, Layla Andrews, Ivy Armour, Evangeline Armstrong, Saelia Aparicio, Paul Benney, Jessica Brox, Ian Bruce, Antony Cairns, Fred Clark, Charlotte Colbert, Philip Colbert, Mat Collishaw, Adeline de Monseignat, Camilla Emson, Kitty Finer, Neal Fox, Bert Gilbert, Lily Gutierrez, Alma Haser, Jane Howard, Alix Janta-Polczynski, Bellamy Jean, Kelly Jessiman, Mick Jones, Soojin Kang, Silia Ka Tung, Clara Lacey, Claudia Legge, Mercedes Lucy, Kamila Maslowska, Akiko Matsuura, Misha Milovanovich, Elnaz Niknani, Tim Noble, Phoebe Oliver, Christopher Page, Chiara Perano, Barry Reigate, Charlotte Rose, Boo Saville, Zakee Shariff, Bob & Roberta Smith, Gavin Turk, Eloise van der Heyden, Nataliya Vitorovich, Alice Walter, Sue Webster.

Lauren Estelle Jones, Guest Curator, comments:

“It’s an honour to be invited to curate the final Art on a Postcard auction after such a remarkable 11-year run. My practice has always centred on making art more accessible and creating new ways for people to connect with it — from exploring exchange through Art Barter, to supporting artists more closely with Alteria Art, and through my independent curatorial projects.

This auction brings those values together. By inviting artists to dedicate a work to someone they love, we’re offering the public not just a chance to collect original art at affordable prices, but to share in an intimate act of memory, devotion, and creativity — all while supporting the extraordinary work of The Hepatitis C Trust.”

The show will be open throughout the day on Sunday 16th and Monday 17th November (11am – 4pm) at Colony Room Green.

“Eleven years in, Art on a Postcard has become more than a fundraising tool — it’s a way to discover great artists and own quality work without the gallery markup. The best part? It supports a cause close to me,” comments Art on a Postcard Founder Gemma Peppé.

“When I first joined The Hepatitis C Trust, I’d just failed a brutal year of treatment and was told there were no options left. Now, 12 years post-cure, with a 97% success rate for new treatments, hepatitis C is becoming a solvable problem. This project proves that art can drive real change — not just in collectors’ homes, but in people’s lives.”
