Hotly-tipped New York band SKORTS will release their thrilling new single “Headrush” on June 19th ahead of their upcoming European tour, which includes the quartet’s debut UK live shows.
SKORTS write music that flows through your veins, reverberates in your bones and hits nerves you never knew existed. Songs that remind you you’re alive – and let you know that you’re not alone. With swirling guitars, pulsating bass and yearning, passionate vocals, “Headrush” tunes into raw sexuality. “Headrush is a product of desire, jealousy, and rage,” explains SKORTS frontwoman Alli Walls. ”I was in a ‘I will get what I want’ kind of mood, and what I wanted was to cum.”
SKORTS are a product of creative chemistry and sweet serendipity. Since starting to release music together in 2023, on the back of chance encounters at guitar shops and outside of bars, Alli Walls (lead vocals/guitar), Char Smith (lead guitar), Emma Welch (bass) and Max Berdik (drums), the four haven’t stopped. For the last few years, the band has been everywhere – earning the title of Oh My Rockness’s Hardest Working Band in 2024 – forging their sound on bigger and bigger stages across New York City and nationwide, including a US support tour with The Velveteers. British audiences will get their first chance to experience the band live at London’s Shacklewell Arms on June 30as part of the UK leg of SKORTS European tour.
Last October, SKORTS dropped their debut album Incompletement, recorded live across three Brooklyn practice spaces with friend and producer Teddy O’Mara. These are the songs that have blasted for blocks off of rooftops and blown minds in bars during the band’s heady rise – including the singles “Eat Your Heart Out,” “Bodies,” and “Burden” – captured on record for the first time.
