After viral lookalike contests for Harry Styles and Timothée Chalamet made headlines worldwide, it’s now Bowie’s turn in the spotlight—just ahead of the David Bowie Centre opening at V&A East the following weekend.

The lookalike competition has been launched as part of ZIGGYFEST, a new one-day annual celebration reuniting Bowie collaborators for a day of inspirational music, art, food, talks, DJs, Bowie-inspired cocktails and more.

All proceeds from ZIGGYFEST will be donated to two charities, Magic Breakfast and Sarabande (the charity set up by late designer Lee Alexander McQueen to support the next generation of fearless creatives).

About ZIGGYFEST

ZIGGYFEST was founded by Prue Freeman and Tom Onions of the Daisy Green Collection to honour Bowie’s beginnings on Heddon Street, where his rise to fame first took shape.

Tom Onions comments: “We wanted to tell the story of the Bowie that we see. An incredible man who found inspiration everywhere. Someone who was not an overnight success and saw beauty in challenging preconceptions through music, art, creativity and humour.

We want to tell the story of all the brilliant people who were part of his journey adding their stardust.”

Onions continues, “How that journey never stopped – he was curious and creative to the end and throughout he inspired so many – from the Blitz Kids to the New Romantics to electro music. And most importantly a Londoner, who should be celebrated by Londoners in London. We hope that ZIGGYFEST captures this and raises lots of money for Sarabande – a charity for creatives. – The opening of the David Bowie Centre in Stratford is an important next step in his legacy and will no doubt be a source of inspiration for many – so well worth celebrating.”

For over a decade the Daisy Green Collection has built a valued relationship with London’s art community, working with artists including Sir Peter Blake, Lucy Sparrow, Oli Epp and Chris Levine among many others. Merging art and hospitality across the group’s 18 locations has allowed guests the rare ability to engage and be immersed with the art which is so often reserved for museums or private collections.

Daisy Green continues their leading pairings of art and culture with food and drink with ZIGGYFEST, celebrating one of the most influential, creative and beloved artists London has produced.

About Daisy Green

The Daisy Green Collection brings relaxed and buzzing Australian food culture to London. Through individually designed cafes and restaurants, it creates iconic spaces that become local destinations and meeting points for our surrounding residents, workers and visitors.

The Collection was founded by Prue Freeman and Tom Onions in 2012, starting with just two vintage ice cream vans (Pinky Green and Wander Green) and three tricycles.

The food is carefully sourced and cooked in house from scratch. Menus are inspired by Daisy Green founder Prue Freeman’s childhood at home on her family’s sheep farm and hot summers on the beach. Food combines simple fresh Mediterranean ingredients with pops of Asian flavours and textures. There is an overriding sense of freshness, quality, simplicity and fire.

Over the last decade the independent family business has grown organically to include an exciting mix of cafes, restaurants, bars, secret underground gardens, canal boats and shipping containers. Each site is an adventure, and a story carefully curated for its unique audience.
